Biography of  the choir

The “Éisleker Gospelchouer” emerged in September 2006 from the choir of “Derenbach” after the latter’s participation in a Gospel workshop and its decision to mainly consecrated oneself to Gospel.

Enthusiastic of the music, more and more singers from the north of Luxembourg joined the choir, which contributed consequently to the naming.

Like that arose the “Éisleker Gospelchouer”, which counts 22 members at the moment, in the aforesaid year.

 

From the new foundation on in 2006, Carole Schmitz from Hachiville (L) led the choir with great commitment. In September 2009, she handed over the baton to Annick Hermann, a professional musician from Amel (B), which held the management until February.

 

Since February 2013, the “Éisleker Gospelchouer” stands under the musical responsibility of Sandra Kringels, a professional musician of Belgium, which pursues the objective of giving ambitious singers the opportunity to translate traditional and modern Gospel as well as with it related genres into a credible musical way.

Accompanied and enriched by improvisations of piano the choir gets from Franck Bovet, a pianist and composer of France.

Biography of the conductor

The love of music was present since the beginning. Sandra Kringels sat already early at the piano, studied finally, after brilliant studies of German and English language and literature in Namur (B) and Liège (B), the subject piano at the conservatoire of Maastricht (NL) and Liège (B), gave concerts and participated in international master classes. At the same time, Sandra Kringels stood as singer with a renowned Vocal ensemble onstage at home and abroad. When besides, for example, the “Fledermaus” of Johann Strauss got performed at the Opera Theater of Zuyd for the 50th anniversary of the conservatoire of Maastricht in 2012, she assisted in the choir. After ten-year-old choir experience, her interest came across an appeal for a conductor’s course for choral singing and led her such to the other side of the choir world. After having already guided numerous choirs from Belgium and Luxembourg, she bears the whole musical responsibility for the “Éisleker Gospelchouer”.

The thirty-year-old all-rounder Franck Bovet already looks back on a particular musical vita: At the age of thirteen, he started the studies of classical piano and jazz and acquired later the Master II of Music Theory at the University of Aix-en-Provence. In Paris, he followed the teachings of the renowned pianist Jean-François Zygel, before his practical and theoretical skills him served as basis for his studies of composition, which he successfully completed amongst others at the conservatoires of Liège and Maastricht. He currently lectures amongst others at the conservatoire of Liège.

 

The improvisations of the native of France’s South and living in Eupen Pianist and Composer cannot be allocated to a genre. In his play, Franck Bovet covers in a unique manner a diversity of spectrums between jazz and contemporary Music and cancels the constraints between the different genres. Numerous Music Languages like Classic or World Music enriches his style. The multiple with international prices awarded pianist grants its music with unique talent and special sensitivity expressiveness and brilliance.
